Copyright in the photographs

Every photograph belongs to the photographer who made it. The agency licenses on their behalf and owns none of it. Reproducing a frame without a licence is not permitted, and a licence never includes the right to alter or recrop it.

Intellectual property

The text, page structure and typographic system on this site belong to The Plate, except where a source is named. Reproducing whole pages without permission is not permitted; quoting with attribution is.

Personal data

The forms on this site collect a name, an email address, an organisation if you give one, and whatever you write in the message field. That data is used to answer you and to arrange the work. It is not sold, not shared with third parties, and not used to profile you.

Retention

Enquiry data is kept for twelve months and then deleted. Commission records are kept for ten years, which is what the accounts and the licences require.

Subjects of photographs

If you appear in a photograph of ours, you may ask what we hold, ask for the consent record, and object. Objections go to a panel that excludes the photographer and the editor concerned, and a frame under objection is withdrawn from licensing while it is considered.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to commissions@example.com and we will answer within one month.

Cookies

This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. No consent banner appears because there is nothing to consent to.

Accessibility

The site is built to work without JavaScript, with the keyboard, and with reduced motion enabled. If you find something that does not, please tell us: that is a defect, not a limitation.
