Biography

Thomas Dubois runs the picture desk and the five weeks that go with it — which is to say, he is responsible for the decision to send one photographer for a month rather than three for a weekend.

He joined in 2009 from a wire agency and still shoots one assignment a year, badly, in his own description. He argues, at length and to anyone available, that a photographer who can describe a place before they know what it means comes back with the better take.
